Quantitative Researcher in Machine Learning – Up to $120K + Bonus!

Summary

International Private Equity Firm looking for a Quantitative Researcher in Machine Learning will work closely with team to develop and test data driven investment insights applying a range of statistical and machine learning methods. This talented and experienced researcher will leverage NLP and machine learning techniques to identify, gather, and analyze unstructured data from multiple sources and develop tools to expand the data set available for Quant Research analysis. Must have the ability to creatively approach data analysis and clearly communicate complex ideas and insights.

Responsibilities for the Quantitative Researcher in Machine Learning

  • 80% is designing and acquiring new data sets used in quantitative research.  20% is responding to quantitative analysis requests
  • Build cutting-edge ML and NLP models for acquiring and analyzing proprietary unstructured textual data
  • Perform data exploration and visualization to test hypothesis, develop new features, and uncover insights from data
  • Work with quantitative developers to engineer tools for expanding proprietary data set available for Quant Research analysis
  • Advise quant researchers and data analysts on opportunities to incorporate ML techniques into their research process
  • Support client facing teams in conducting ad-hoc analysis and responding to client requests

Requirements for the Quantitative Researcher in Machine Learning

  • Graduate degree in a technical or quantitative discipline, like statistics, mathematics, physics, electrical engineering, or computer science
  • 3-5 years of experience in a quantitative role
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of the ins and outs of machine learning algorithms applied to real world structured and unstructured textual data sets
  • Demonstrably strong data science modeling intuition and feature engineering creativity
  • Working knowledge of common data science toolkits: Python, PySpark, PyTorch
  • Strong analytical skills; experience working with and analyzing large datasets
  • Proven ability to clearly and effectively communicate complex quantitative insights
  • Experience with Python and SQL

Compensation for the Quantitative Researcher in Machine Learning

  • Annual Salary: Up to $120K
  • Bonus: 30%
