Large insurance company has a hybrid-based opening for a Reinsurance Accountant. Candidates must be based near one of the offices in Boston, East Lansing, MI or Omaha, NE. The primary focus of the Reinsurance Accountant is to perform financial closings and reporting processes for the reinsurance business (reinsurance placements and underwriting/claims activities), preparation of financial reports, journal entries, account reconciliations and other related tasks. A Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required, CPA/MBA preferred, 2+ years accounting/reporting experience in property and casualty insurance industry, proficient in insurance statutory and GAAP accounting, experience with general ledger and other accounting systems (Workday and BlackLine preferred), advanced skills with Excel and MS Office, and the ability to meet tight deadlines are required for this position.
